A Message from Mr. Hudnall
Seneca Students and Families,
Mrs. Fye and I would like to welcome everyone to the 2026-2027 school year at Seneca High School. We hope you have had a great summer and that you are looking forward to a new school year. The wonderful thing about a new school year is that you have a brand-new opportunity to start again. A brand-new opportunity to join a club or team, make new friends, build new relationships, learn new ideas and concepts, and pursue your goals. I encourage you to write down a few goals before this school year starts. Those goals could range from academic to extracurricular; by writing them down, you will be taking the first step toward accomplishing them.
This year, our school theme is straightforward: consistency in everything we do. At Seneca High School, we will strive to be consistent in all our efforts. We will show up every day ready to learn, ready to help others, and ready to become the best versions of ourselves. We will seek out challenges, dedicate extra time to studying and preparation, consistently attend school, complete our class work, and establish good habits that will enable you (us) to have a great year.

Absences, Working Papers, & Educational Trips
It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to submit, in writing, a reason for their child’s absence as soon as possible after the child returns to school. The middle school allows 3 days to submit an excuse after the child returns to school. After 3 days, the day will be marked unlawful. If an excuse is returned after the 3 days, it will be documented an excuse was submitted for that day(s) but it will still be marked unlawful. The attendance office sends reminders to submit excuses as well. Excuses can be submitted electronically by emailing them to SHSattendance@wattsburg.org . Please refer to the student handbook or School Board Policy - 204 for more information about attendance.
Students that need to obtain Working Papers can come to the high school office with a parent or guardian between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on workdays. Parents need to bring their driver's license and the student's birth certificate. The Application for Work Permit takes about 5 minutes.
Pre-approval from the principal is mandatory and should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the trip. The destination must be stated and the educational activities that the student will be experiencing must be listed. If the trip is deemed not educational in nature, it will not be approved, and the days will be marked unlawful. Please click here to learn more.
